"Crash Course In Resilience"

Advocates establishing ways of doing things that do not so much depend on fossil fuel and the current state of the economy. The effects of climate change and dwindling fossil fuels cannot be reliably predicted. Three basic strategies are presented to prepare for possible disruptions:

1.) Build skills that might become helpful - such as growing food and repairing equipment.

2.) Learn how to find alternatives to non-local resources. An example would be to purchase locally grown food or to make do without shipped-in manufactured goods.

3.) Develop an attitude of adapting to change. Do what you can to be adaptive. Get out of debt. Take care of your health. Be creative, resourceful, build relationships for support and yet develop self-sufficiency, and celebrate your resilience.
